Litecoin announced that it will be sponsoring the UFC light heavyweight title fight dubbed, UFC 232: Jones vs. Gustaffson on December 29, 2018. The said title fight is a rematch between former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones against UFC light heavyweight Alexander Gustaffson.
In a press statement, Litecoin said that by becoming the official sponsor of the UFC fight, the company hopes to make people more aware of digital currencies, particularly the adoption of litecoin as the UFC viewers choice of digital currency.
According to Litecoin, the company is banking on the popularity of the mixed martial arts organisation since UFC has become big community of passionate individuals. With millions of viewers worldwide, LTC is hoping that this move will make people be more aware about digital currency particularly Litecoin since its logo will be displayed on the UFC ring.
For those who have been monitoring the cryptocurrency industry for a long time now would know that this is the first time that a digital coin is sponsoring such event. As such Litecoin is excited enough to claim this as a milestone for the company.

Incidentally, this is not the first time that Litecoin and LItecoin Foundation partnered with big companies and brands. And the company said that this is only the first step towards building a close relationship with UFC as it is looking forward to more campaign awareness sponsorship in the future that will benefit both UFC and LItecoin.
