Tesla Model S Performance Can Now Reach 0-60 Mph in 2.3 Seconds

  • Tesla has updated the Model S Performance on its online configurator page to reflect that it can now reach 0-60 Mph in 2.3 seconds, beating out the previous time of 2.4 seconds.

The tesla Model S sedan has reached multiple landmarks over its time in the market, and it has just added a new achievement to its list. The company has updated its model s Performance page to highlight that it can now officially accelerate 0 to 60 Mph in 2.3 seconds. The car was previously capable of reaching 60 Mph in 2.4 seconds, making this one of the fastest 0-60 cars in the business today. A note on tesla’s website simply read “Quicker acceleration: 0-60 mph in 2.3s.”

tesla is yet to mention if these changes occurred due to a software or hardware change, but new customers should be able to get the Model S Performance with the boosted acceleration from the company’s online configurator.

This is also a consequence of the arrival of “Launch Mode” which allowed vehicles like the Model S and model x Raven to launch at full power, thus offering improved acceleration. Further, the company also added the new Cheetah stance which makes use of adaptive air suspension while also improving traction.

tesla has been making some hardware changes to its vehicles since early this year. The company started displaying higher range numbers for Model S and Model X vehicles in February. This is perhaps why the Model S is considered to be one of the best EVs out there. The Model S P100D version had the honor of being the ‘Quickest Production Car In The World’ in 2016 for being able to reach 0-60 Mph in 2.5 seconds. Clearly, the company has only gotten better on that front over the years.
