Tesla Model S and X 0-60mph in 2.41 seconds with new “Cheetah Stance” launch mode in 2023.12.5 software release

There’s a reason why you see all these Tesla’s showing up at drag races all over Youtube. Tesla’s launch mode makes these puppies one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world.

To make launch mode even more powerful, Tesla released the 2020.12.5 software update earlier this week to beef up the launch mode with the “Cheetah Stance.”

As you can see demonstrated in this video, launch mode will lower the front of the car into a “cheetah stance”. The mean looking stance mimics the predator ready to take off and pounce! Launch mode reduces the ground clearance of the front axle through its adaptive suspension (which tesla calls Raven) to improve traction during acceleration.

As showed on the Dragtimes Youtube video, in this new launch mode, maximum output power can reach 614kW, which is stronger than the previous version (580kW). And in several of his passes, he hit 0 to 60 mph in as little as 2.41 seconds, other passes he did it in about 2.6 seconds.

The new launch mode was first reported by @greentheonly a week ago.
