Xpeng Motor’s second mass-produced model, the P7, will be launching on April 27, 2020. The details of this release is expected to be officially announced on April 13. The delivery will be expected to be as soon as May to June this year.
According to Xpeng official introduction, rear-wheel drive version will have a battery sustaining a range of 706 km (438 miles). While the all-wheel drive high performance model with have the same size battery pack, but with lesser range.
Xpeng P7 vs Tesla Model 3
The all-wheel drive version will have a 263 horsepower rear-wheel motor and a 161 horsepower front motor. With this motor, the Xpeng P7 will go for 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds, which is comparable to tesla Model 3’s AWD version.
model 3 has a 75 kWh battery pack, which is slightly smaller than Xpeng P7’s 80.87 kWh battery.
As for size, the P7 is about 5 inches longer than the Model 3, so passengers have a bit more leg room in the P7.
Xpeng P7 Release Date
The Xpeng P7 is expected to launch on April 27th, 2020. The announcement should come on April 13th. The delivery date should be shortly after in May or June of 2020.
Xpeng P7 Price
Xpeng P7 has already begun to accept reservations. The pre-sale price of the rear-drive long battery life version is 240,000 yuan ($33,900 USD), the rear-drive super-long battery life version is 270,000 yuan ($38,200 USD), and the pre-sale price of the four-wheel drive high-performance version is 370,000 yuan ($52,300 USD).
Xpeng pure electric mid-size sedan P7 is expected to be launched in April 2020 and delivered in May-June 2020. A total of 3 models: rear-drive long-endurance models, rear-drive ultra-long-endurance models and four-wheel-drive high-performance models. Officials said that as of December 31, 2019, the cumulative order of the car has reached more than 15,000 units.
The P7, which is positioned as a medium-sized pure electric car, has a high degree of recognition for its split headlights and through-type taillights, and uses a slip-back design that highlights the sense of movement.
The car has a length of 4880mm (192 inches) and a wheelbase of 2998mm (118 inches). It has a streamlined dynamic posture of the coupe body and the lowest Cd 0.236 drag coefficient among domestic cars.
In the interior, the new car adopts the irregular shape of the continuous screen design. Compared with the Xpeng G3, its interior technology has been enhanced.
In terms of technology, the P7 is based on the SEPA (Smart Electric Platform Architecture), equipped with Qualcomm’s top automotive processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 820A, and system-level autopilot chip NVIDIA DRIVE Xavier, creating high-level autopilot assistance capabilities and powerful intelligent interaction.
Technical capabilities include V2X interconnection capability, ecological expansion, and OTA upgrade of the entire vehicle.
In terms of chassis, Xpeng Motors partnered with Porsche Engineering, which has a long history of sports car development, develop a chassis platform for the P7, and engineers from both China and Germany completed the design for this chassis and testing.
