What happened during the BitTorrent token sale at Binance Launchpad?

The much anticipated sale of BitTorrent tokens happened on January 28 and news had it that the sale lasted for only 15 minutes with 23.76 billion BTT getting sold.

According to the official blog post, the sale happened in two sessions on the exclusive token launch platform of Binance, the Binance Launchpad. The first session was for purchases using Binance Coin (BNB and the second session was for purchases using TRON (TRX). Both sessions started at 3:00 pm.

In the session for BNB, all 23.76 billion BTT were immediately sold within 13 minutes and 25 seconds, While in the TRON session all 35.64 billion BTT were sold within 14 minutes and 41 seconds, Those were quick transactions indeed.

Also during the sale, BTT has a price tag of 0.00001824 BNB or 0.00447261 TRX. This means that 1 BNB enabled participants to buy 54,824.56 BTT and 1 TRX enabled participants to purchase 223,58 BTT. The minimum amount to purchase was pegged at 100,000 to 166,666,666 BTT.

CZ Binance on Twitter said that the sale was met with so much enthusiasm among participant to the point that the Binance Launchpad suffered a minor glitch which irked some participants. It’s a good thing that CZ quickly responded by explaining the network issue that happened.

TRON CEO, Justin Sun was also quick to offer some incentives to participants who experienced the glitch and were not able to purchase BTT.

CZ Binance also confirmed this and offered a small airdrop of BTT which shall happen in the coming days.
