Rivian has just posted a video on YouTube showing the R1T going through some intense testing at the Arizona desert.Though the video is short, it does give us a very good idea of what the electric pickup can do, including climbing some rocks with relative ease. The Rivian R1T is expected to hit the markets by mid-2021 with production expected to commence in early 2021. Rivian is a company that is yet to make a mark on the auto industry. The company is on course to bring its vehicles to the market starting with the R1T electric pickup. This EV is expected to go on sale in late 2021 while the R1S electric SUV will reportedly follow suit a few months later. Well, today we've encountered a video of the R1T pickup in action on a desert. The video shows the car going through some heavy testing, including climbing on rocks and pulling off some tough corners in the desert. For the purposes of secrecy, the R1T shown in the video is somewhat camouflaged, though the market is well aware of what it looks like thanks to official images revealed by the manufacturer. https:\/\/youtu.be\/cmdsKHTRViA The video was reportedly shot in the Arizona desert and is said to be part of an off-road test of the R1T ahead of its expected launch next year. The R1T is one of the few upcoming vehicles to offer an expected electric range of over 400 miles. However, Tesla recently breached the mark by updating the Model S to make it the first electric car to have an electric range of 400 miles or above. The Model S managed to clock 402 miles on a full charge. The upcoming Lucid Air is also expected to have a similar electric range, so this could well be the industry standard going into 2021. Previously, the R1T was said to be available by the end of 2020, though those plans have clearly changed given the shutdowns imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
