Acuity Brands (AYI)
Acuity Brands is due to announce its third-quarter fiscal results before tomorrow’s opening bell. Having previously reporting a positive earnings surprise of 11.2% in the last quarter, they also beat estimates in the previous four quarters with an average of 7.3%. In the last reported quarter, the adjusted earnings increased a total of 5.3% on the same period last year, supported by top-line growth of 10.7% across the company. These impressive results were driven by higher sales, solid margins, a higher price realisation, and gains in productivity. These offset the cost pressures of rising inflation and the impact of certain tariffs. Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings has been revised in an upwards manner of 1.2% over the last month, to $2.48 per share. This is an increase of 4.6% from the value of $2.37 this time last year. In addition to this, revenues are expected to increase by 2.2% to $965.1 million.
Greenbrier Cos (GBX)
It’s not looking rosy for Greenbrier Companies as they are expected to report results for the quarter ending May 2019, today. Wall Street has predicted a decline in earnings against this time last year. Zacks Consensus Estimate has predicted that the railroad freight car company will post quarterly earnings of $0.96 per share, a decrease of 26.2% on this time last year. Revenues are expected to be up however, a total of 33.9% to $858.55 million in all. The EPS estimate for the quarter hasn’t shifted in the last 30 days and the Earnings ESP is 0%.
OMNOVA Solutions Inc (OMN)
OMNOVA is due to report its last quarter earnings today prior to the opening of the markets. The report will pertain to the fiscal quarter that ended May 2019. According to predictions from Zacks, based on the forecasts of two analysts, the EPS forecast is of earnings of $0.22. The EPS for the same period last year was $0.2. Sales are expected to be around $216.7 million with an increase of 5.04% from last year. Profits should be around the $0.638 per share mark over the whole year, an increase of $0.08 per share on last year.
