As the crypto space continues to grow and develop, its first and greatest mystery still remains unsolved — who is Satoshi Nakamoto? Bitcoin’s (BTC) creator remains unknown to this very day, despite the fact that it has been more than ten years since the coin was launched. In the meanwhile, there were numerous speculations regarding who might be behind Nakamoto, and many people have claimed to know the answer to that question.
To add to the confusion, some even claimed that they themselves are Nakamoto, such as nChain’s controversial chief scientist, Dr. Craig Wright. As his claims lack evidence, the identity of the real Satoshi remains unknown. However, another controversial figure in the crypto space — John McAfee — claims that he knows the real identity of the founder of the crypto industry.
But, despite his recent threats of revealing the truth, McAfee has decided not to share the secret with the public, after all. He did, however, explain his reasons for choosing so.
Satoshi’s identity still a matter of debate
John McAfee recently stated that he would reveal Nakamoto’s true identity within a week if Satoshi himself does not come forward, and out of the shadows. He even explained that Nakamoto is not happy with this attempt to out him.
Even so, McAfee appears to believe that it is time for the mask of Satoshi to fall. The reasons for this are many, but McAfee is mostly just had enough of Craig Wright going after everyone who starts claiming that he is not the real Satoshi. The debates, Twitter wars, scandals, and insults are getting out of hand, and McAfee believes that the only way of stopping it is for Satoshi to come out and put an end to it.
Now, however, it appears that McAfee has decided not to do it after all. Due to the charges of felonies by the IRS, which forced McAfee to flee the country and live on the boat, he believes that outing Nakamoto now might be dangerous, as his attorney has suggested. This caused McAfee to reconsider his decision, and decide to wait with exposing the real Nakamoto.
Does McAfee truly know Satoshi?
While this is the closest that the crypto industry ever came to finding out who Satoshi really is, a large part of the community does not seem to be impressed with McAfee’s claims. Many have asked why is McAfee Nakamoto’s messenger when he could easily post himself, and prove his identity by moving some of the first Bitcoins that were ever mined.
Others believe that McAfee does not know anything and that he is simply seeking attention. They even went as far as to compare him to Wright in this regard. However, Satoshi’s real identity will still remain a closely guarded secret — one that McAfee may or may not know. He did reveal a few things, such as the fact that no government is behind the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, and no agency belonging to some government.
The "Who is Satoshi?" Mystery must end! First: It is NOT the CIA nor any agency of any world government. It IS a collection of people, but the white paper was written by one man, who currentky resides in the US. If he does not come forward these narrowings will continue.

According to him, Nakamoto is a team of people, but only one man is responsible for writing the Bitcoin whitepaper — and that man currently resides in the US.
