As reported earlier, on 11 December 2018, Bitstamp is working on a new mobile crypto app for iOS and Android. All users who have joined the beta testing program, received an invitation to test the new app and give their feedbacks. All testers who provide relevant feedback will receive a $50 trading fee bonus at the end of the test, 7 January 2019.
I was one of the first 500 users, who received the invitation to join this beta-testing program. The following review and screen captures were made using the iPhone X, so here is an exclusive first look at the new Bitstamp crypto app for iOS.
When users are invited via email to test the new Bitstamp mobile app for iOS , they are prompted to install the TestFlight app from the App Store on their iPhone or iPad if they don’t already have it installed.
The installation process is fairly simple and straightforward. Once the download is completed, users will be asked to enter user ID, password and two-factor authentication code, which has become a standard security feature on majority of apps within the crypto industry.
The biggest change of the new Bitstamp mobile app design is the navigation and feature-rich individual menu sections. In particular, Dashboard, Tradeview, Buy & Sell, Wallet and Settings replaced the old Stats, Trade, Wallet and Chart buttons respectively.
One feature that really stands out (compared to the old app) is a significantly imporved Buy & Sell navigation. Buying and selling functionality of the old Bitstamp mobile app always felt like unfinished business. It was lacking some basic buy/sell settings and price variables, which is something that other crypto trading and exchange apps, such as Binance for iOS/Android, introduced to the market long time ago. However, things might change soon, as the new Bitstamp’s mobile app will allow users to place Instant, Market, Limit and Stop orders as well as instantly select 25%, 50% or 100% of the selected asset portfolio.
RATING: 5/5 ★★★★★
Modern, secure, professional – the new Bitstamp mobile app for iOS is as well-designed as the crypto exchange’s reputation would suggest.
