- Responding to a Twitter user’s question, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that the Cybertruck redesign will be revealed “in a month or so”.
- The Cybertruck is currently on track for a late 2021 release with the company planning to launch two high-end models potentially starting at $49,000.
- The popularity of the Cybertruck is fairly high among prospective buyers with Tesla saying that it has seen over 500,000 reservations already.
The Tesla Cybertruck has been a work in progress for a while now, though the company remains optimistic about bringing it to the markets by late 2021. A few months ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company will not make the Cybertruck smaller after previously claiming to do exactly that citing concerns with regard to fitting it within a conventional garage.
Now Musk has said that the company will reveal a redesigned version of the Cybertruck “in a month or so”. The CEO gave out the information via his personal Twitter account. When a user asked for pictures of the new changes, Musk simply replied “Sure, maybe in a month or so”, while not providing a specific timeline for the announcement.
It’s worth noting that Musk has had a thorough design review of the Cybertruck with Tesla Design Chief Franz von Holzhausen recently, and later said that a few changes are forthcoming.
Though the precise nature of these changes is unknown at this point, we’re expecting an official reveal sometime in December going by the CEO’s words. This comes as the popularity of the yet to be released Cybertruck remains high and over 500,000 people have already reserved the vehicle.
The company is still on course to launching two high-end variants of the Cybertruck by the end of 2021, though that timeline may change eventually. These models are expected to start from $49,000 while the range is expected to be somewhere between 300 to 500 miles. The company has also said that a low-end and cheaper version of the Cybertruck will be made available at a later date.
Tesla holds high manufacturing standards, and even though some loopholes have appeared recently, the company has been fairly transparent about it. With this in mind, it goes without saying that the company will leave no stone unturned in making the Cybertruck an efficient and capable automobile.
