Dongfeng-Peugeot has announced that its e-2008 all-electric crossover will reach Chinese markets by May 20. This EV will be priced starting at 180,000 CNY which is the equivalent of $25,400, making this a pretty attractive car in the region. The car differs slightly in terms of appearance as compared to the standard Peugeot e-2008. Additionally, the car comes with a letter “e” on the side fender to make it stand out from the non-electric model.

The e-2008 is based on eCMP which is an electric modular platform. The car comes with a 163-horsepower electric motor and a 50kWh battery pack which can reportedly offer electric range of 360 km (223 miles) as per NEDC’s certification. It’s a very attractive looking crossover, and the addition of premium materials on the inside will come as good news for prospective buyers.

The interior of the e-2008 is equipped with 3D i-Cockpit as well as a centrally located 10 inch LCD panel for music control and other features. Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Ltd has launched multiple cars under their collective brand so far, and the e-2008 is one of the several to make its way to the markets in the months to come.

The EV segment is slowly beginning to pick up pace in China given that the region is recovering from the global pandemic. The Chinese market has recently seen the addition of the Tesla Model 3 LR RWD while Tesla continues to face stiff competition in the region from manufacturers like Xiaopeng. The addition of the Dongfeng-Peugeot e-2008 will certainly make things more interesting in China.
