Cryptocurrency ATM machine installation doubles despite crypto uncertainty


The number of cryptocurrency machines being installed has doubled in 2018 according to a recently published data. This is despite the turbulence in the cryptocurrency industry this year.

The data was published by Data Light, a crypto analytics company and shows that more than 4,000 cryptocurrency machines we in 2018.

The information also indicated that these newly installed cryptocurrency ATM machines do not only offer bitcoin but other cryptocurrencies as well including Ethereum and Dopecoin. The firm also say that there were 6 crypto ATMs installed daily.

Looking at other data published by Data Light, it should be worth noting that almost all of the 4846 crypto ATM machines installed worldwide serve Bitcoin. LItecoin on the other hand is being offered by 2,421 machines while Ethereum is offered by 1993 machines. It’s also good to know that these cypto ATM machines are not only serving the top cryptocurrencies but others as well. These include Dogecoin, Monero and Zcash being served in 67, 79 and 128 ATM machines respectively.

With those data being said, it would be safe to conclude that cryptocurrencies are becoming more available for the general public as the surge in the installation of ATM machines will indicate that demand for such service is increasing as well. The more ATM machines available the more accessible cryptos will be.

As the year comes to a close in a week, it will be interesting to find out whether this increase in the installation of crypto ATM machines will continue in the early months of 2019.
