Bitcoin Cash acceptance gains ground, more than 900 online merchants now accepting the crypto

Bitcoin Cash Association announced through a Reddit posting that there are now more than 900 online retailers accepting Bitcoin cash as a form of payment. The reddit user has posted a list of online retailers which are already accepting Bitcoin cash. The list also includes 670 brick and mortar stores accepting Bitcoin cash as well.

While these number may seem significant enough, looking closely at the list will reveal that most of the online merchants accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are mostly not popular, independent sellers. There are however some well known payment platforms included on the list that accept Bitcoin Cash. These include BitPay, CopPay and Payeer.

In the case of brick-and-mortar stores accepting Bitcoin Cash, the most notable include Lush, a cosmetics chain store, Overstock and Newegg. These two retailers are known to have accepted digital currencies as a form of payment before. In fact, Overstock is accepting 40 different altcoins as early as mid-2017.

It’s a good thing that payment processors such as BitPay are gradually making their marks in the online markets, Through BitPay, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin cash are immediately processed into fiat money. This allows consumers to immediately convert their digital assets as soon as their done with their online transactions,

It’s too early to tell whether this trend with continue this year. Still the growing number of online merchants now accepting Bitcoin cash plus an online game now allowing digital currency payment on its merch store, is a good start for the cryptocurrency industry in achieving its overarching goal of wider acceptance.
